Popular Science Knowledge - Safety Requirements for Crane Hoisting Operations, Do You Know Them All?
2025-06-23 11:39:10

This article selects and organizes the safety knowledge related to Crane hoisting operations, aiming to help the relevant personnel of the crane user unit understand and master the safety requirements of hoisting operations, strengthen the safety awareness of operators, and prevent related safety risks.

01 Main characteristics of crane work

1. Cranes usually have relatively large and complex mechanisms, and the operation process often involves movement in several different directions, and the operation technology is difficult.

2. There are many kinds of heavy objects that can be hoisted, and the load is variable. Some items are heavy, large and irregular, making the hoisting process complicated and dangerous.

3. It needs to operate in a larger range and has a larger activity space. Once an accident occurs, the impact is larger.

4. There are many exposed and active parts, and they are often in direct contact with the hoisting operators (such as hooks, wire ropes, etc.), which may cause many accidental risk factors.

5. During the operation, it is often necessary for multiple people to cooperate to complete the hoisting operation together.

02 Safety operation requirements for lifting and hoisting operations

1. Before lifting operations

① Before the operation, the on-site safety officer, crane commander, and crane driver must be determined, and an observation post can be set up depending on the on-site situation.

② Crane drivers operating in the cab must hold a special equipment operator certificate to work, and be familiar with the safety operating procedures, equipment operating procedures, and on-site disposal plans for emergency plans. ③ The on-site safety officer is responsible for supervising all operators involved in lifting and hoisting to wear labor protection equipment correctly.

④ The crane driver shall check whether the crane is in good condition before the operation, and only after confirming that the crane is in good condition can the lifting and hoisting operation be carried out.

⑤ The crane commander is responsible for checking whether the slings at the operation site meet the safety requirements and whether the passages are unobstructed. Only after confirming that they meet the safety requirements can the operation be carried out.

⑥ No other personnel are allowed to enter the lifting and hoisting operation site.

2. During the lifting operation

① The crane hook must be hung with a special person to hold the hook to prevent the hook from hitting the head.

② It is strictly forbidden to overload the crane and the sling.

③ The lifting and hoisting operation shall be commanded by the crane commander, and other personnel shall not issue command signals

④ The position and operation content of the on-site operators must be clear.

⑤ The objects to be lifted must be hung firmly and stably before they can be lifted. It is prohibited to use more than two actions of oblique pulling and diagonal dragging at the same time during lifting. When placing the hoisted object, it must be placed stably before the hook can be released.

⑥ The height of the hoisted object must be more than 0.5 meters higher than the objects encountered on the running line, and it is strictly forbidden to pass over the personnel.

⑦ It is prohibited to hang people with hooks or people riding on the hoisted objects.

⑧ When two people lift objects together, the movements must be coordinated and the crane driver must obey the command of the crane commander.

⑨ When bundling, when lifting objects with sharp edges, they need to be padded with soft materials such as wooden boards to prevent the breakage of slings such as wire flies.

⑩ Strictly follow the "Ten No-Lifting" principles for lifting and hoisting operations during lifting and hoisting operations

3. After the lifting and hoisting operation is completed

Move the crane to the parking place, raise the hook to a certain height and hover it in the designated position, and turn off the power. Arrange the slings and place them in the designated position, and clean the site.

03 The "Ten No-Lifting" principles for lifting and hoisting operations

1. Do not lift if the command signal is not clear

2. Do not lift if the load is overloaded

3. Do not lift if the lifting object is not tied firmly

4. Do not lift if there are people above or below the lifting object

5. Do not lift if the safety device is incomplete or has insensitive or invalid movements

6. Do not lift if the workpiece is buried underground or hooked to the ground building or equipment

7. Do not lift if the light is bright or the vision is unclear

8. Do not lift angular objects without anti-cutting measures

9. Do not lift oblique and crooked workpieces

10. Do not lift in bad weather
